The iconic Royal Enfield is to launch New Continental GT (Name yet to be confirmed) 750cc variant in the first quarter of this year in European Market. However, the Indian fan of the new model –Continental GT 750cc will have to wait to ride as the bike is expected to launch in India in the beginning of 2018. The new Continental GT will be equipped with an upgraded engine and some exclusive features. Here’re the overviews.
Engine and Specifications: The flagship Royal Enfield is powered with 750cc twin-spark engine that will churn out 50bhp. The bike has the direct comparison with Harley-Davidson Street 750 as all specifications of the bike will be here and there about the American bike maker –Harley Davidson Street 750. However, the horsepower is enhanced a bit as compared with the Harley Davidson Street 750 (50 bhp than47 bhp). The Continental GT is mated to 6-speed transmissions.
Price: RE excels in catering its niche customers and so the price is expected to be competitive (Rs. 3 lakhs and Rs. 3.5 lakhs –Ex-showroom price) while the rival bike –Harley Davidson Street has 4.5 lakhs.
Brakes & Suspension: The bike is equipped with heavy 300 mm and 240 mm disk brakes in front and back wheel respectively. If we talk about the suspension front, it will be 41 mm telescopic front frocks & 110 mm Paioli gas charged dampers for the rear. However, the brake and wheel are similar to the Continental GT 535 cc. The bike will also run on a tubeless tire.
Design and Dimension: They are also expected to be the same as the older one. It will have the same round headlamp, fuel tank, and other designs.
In short, if you are looking for the dashing and stylish middleweight bike, then this is it. The production of the bike will begin in the second quarter of this year in Chennai.
